StockChat

Terms of Use

Last updated 24 July 2026

StockChat is not financial advice. It's a group chat app for talking about stocks. Nothing in it is a recommendation to buy or sell anything, and StockChat is not a broker — it never executes trades. Do your own research and consider talking to a licensed financial advisor before making investment decisions.

1. Accepting these terms

By using StockChat you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app. If you're under 13, you may not use StockChat.

2. This is beta software

StockChat is currently distributed as a beta through Apple TestFlight. It's provided as is, without warranties of any kind. Expect bugs. Features may change or disappear, and messages, groups, and other data may be lost — please don't rely on StockChat as a system of record for anything important.

3. Market data

Prices, charts, and other market information are provided for general informational purposes only. They may be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. They come from third-party sources, and we don't guarantee their accuracy, timeliness, or fitness for any purpose. Never trade on the basis of a number you saw in StockChat without verifying it with your broker or another authoritative source.

4. AI features

StockChat includes AI features that answer questions about stocks and explain concepts. AI output can be inaccurate, outdated, or misleading, and it is not financial advice. Treat it as a starting point for your own research, never as a recommendation. To answer your question, the content of that question — and relevant surrounding conversation — is sent to a third-party AI provider. See the Privacy Policy.

5. Your content and conduct

You're responsible for what you post. You keep ownership of your content; you grant us the permission needed to store it, sync it between group members, and operate the service.

There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You agree not to:

6. Reporting and enforcement

You can report content or block another user from within the app. We review reports and aim to act within 24 hours. We may remove content, remove you from a group, or suspend or terminate your access at any time — including permanently and without notice — if you break these terms. Report anything urgent to support@stockchat.io.

7. Groups and invites

Groups are private and invite-only. If you create a group, you're responsible for who you invite, and anyone holding your invite link can join — so only share it with people you intend to include. Everyone in a group can see everything posted in it.

8. Ending your use

You can leave any group or delete the app at any time. To have your account and associated data deleted, email support@stockchat.io. Note that messages you sent to a group may remain visible to other members of that group.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, StockChat and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, for lost data or profits, or for any trading or investment losses arising from your use of the app. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous twelve months (which, during the beta, is nothing).

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Continuing to use StockChat after an update means you accept the revised terms. The "last updated" date above will change when they do.
